About four years ago, I found myself diving headfirst into all things Russell Brunson: his many books, courses, podcasts, and free training. In the personal development and coaching industry, there is a lot of bad advice. It was really refreshing to hear excellent business advice from someone you can tell genuinely cares about helping other people.

As soon as one of Russell’s new books is available to pre-order, I buy several right away to share with friends, clients, and family. His books and programs have helped me make multiple six figures, so it’s a small price to pay for such value (um, hello—you just pay shipping + handling and the book is free!). His newest book, Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers, is no exception.

Over the last month, myself and thousands of other entrepreneurs have worked on the 30-day challenge presented in Traffic Secrets. This couldn’t have come at a better time as I launch my niche homesteading site and subsequent land-buying and selling business (more to come on that!). I’ve been a homesteader for about eight years or so, which comes as a surprise to many because I’m also a travel blogger.

One of our biggest obstacles when we first started homesteading was trying to get land for our homestead. Eventually, we found 14 acres in the Missouri Ozarks, and later on 20 acres in Northern Minnesota. We didn’t buy this the traditional way by getting a loan through a bank. Instead, we did seller financing. I told everyone I know about the company we purchased through because so many wanted this lifestyle but didn’t have the credit to go the traditional route, either.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, people started scrambling to be as self-sustaining as possible. I imagine this came to fruition after seeing empty store shelves time and time again. This was further evidenced by the fact that traffic to my homesteading posts and Pinterest pins shot up 400% since the quarantine. So, this gave me the idea to branch off to a niche homesteading site and create content specifically for these people.

I can create the best content in the world, but none of it matters if people aren’t actually seeing it, though.

Every single book I’ve read of Russells dives deep into actual strategies and gives zero fluff.
In Traffic Secrets, you learn four key components to gaining the traffic your site needs:

  1. How to identify your dream customer.
  2. Your dream 100: Where do these people hang out? Groups, podcasts, forums? What newsletters do they subscribe to?
  3. Uncover your hook, story, and offer.
  4. Learn about the three different types of traffic.
