Ever since I was obsessed with planning my trip to Costa Rica. In fact, I just got back from hosting a beautiful retreat in Quepos.

1. Ziplining

You’ll find tours all over, but the best ones are those that get you through the lush rainforests or the ones with the cloud views, so ask around and then take your pick.

2. Hiking

Hiking is one of the most underrated adventurous activities there is, and if you’re up for some hiking in Costa Rica, you won’t go back disappointed at all. You might not be able to end your hike at a panoramic view, but mostly likely at a waterfall or past a river, but it can be a refreshing experience to say the least. You’ll find many great hiking options to choose from- some go up to a volcano and some others that are relatively easy, all getting you through lush green forests and at closest to nature.

3. White Water Rafting

If you’re an outdoor adventure lover, you absolutely must try your hands at white water rafting- an amazing way to soak in the best of what Costa Rica has to offer. You’ll be paddling down the action packed rivers and will be surrounded by the luscious flora and fauna, making your experience an unforgettable one!

4. Scuba Diving

Literally no trip to Costa Rica would be complete without snorkeling or scuba diving, and if it is your first time trying it out, you’re in luck! You’ll be able to watch some amazing underwater wildlife including the tropical reefs, the colorful fish and if you’re lucky, you might even spot some manta rays and turtles! Also, if you have your diver’s certificate, you can also swim alongside hammerhead sharks and big turtles when you’re here.

5. Birdwatching

This one might not be an adrenaline packed activity, but if you’re in Costa Rica, you definitely wouldn’t want to miss out on exploring nature at its finest. Bird watchers will find heaven here, and depending upon the season, you can get the chance to watch from among the 840 different species of birds including cinnamon woodpeckers, toucans, laughing falcons, kingfishers and so many more.

6. Surfing

Surfing is perfect for those days when you want to get out, but enjoy something a little more laid back. Costa Rica has some world class surf breaks, which is why it is also an excellent surfing destination. Some of the best beaches to hit while you’re here would be Guiones, Cabo Matapalo, Marbella, Hermosa, Grande and Tamarindo.
