The Ketogenic Diet (Keto Diet) is an excellent way to lose weight very quickly. How strict you are will determine the speed at which you’ll lose weight. For example, because this is a lifestyle change for me, I am not near as strict as I was when I lost 45 lbs in a little over a month on the keto diet.
I don’t measure macros, I eat nuts and dairy to my heart’s content, and I don’t exercise much right now. I cheat on holidays and when I’m on vacation (which is often, as I’ve traveled to Iceland, Mexico, Cuba, Montreal, and a ton of domestic places in the last five months). A lot of people call this the lazy keto diet. It’s easily maintainable.
However, if you’re someone who falls off the wagon quickly with even the smallest cheat meal – you may need to be a bit more strict.

If this is the case for you, you’re going to love the keto diet grocery shopping list I’ve created. The list is exactly what I buy when I want to lose a lot of weight in a short period of time. There is also a section of the grocery list that gives you “treats” when you’re ready to start being a bit more generous with your eating plan.
Because I live in the middle-of-nowhere, Iowa, you’ll notice that most of this stuff can be found in any grocery store. Sure, you can buy fancy “keto” products, but I find they’re often unnecessary. If you’d like to purchase specialty items just for keto, check out this list of Keto snacks you can buy on Amazon.
