The good news is, there are lots of small space tips and tricks you can employ to make life easier and really enjoy living in your smaller home, including the following:

Get rid of things

The most obvious tip for living in a small space is to declutter. The less stuff you have in your home, the more useable space you will have. If you can’t bear to part with various things, but you don’t use them very often, then a storage unit is a useful tool, and you can get 1st month free storage here. Remove anything you don’t love or use regularly and things will start to look up pretty much immediately.

Use every nook and cranny

Storage space can be a big problem in smaller spaces, but if you think clever and you use every possible nook and cranny from storage boxes under the bed to the wall space above the kitchen cupboards, you can not only fit everything in, but you can do so in an organized way too.

Make more of the Yard

If you live in a small space, but you do happen to have a yard, then it makes sense to use that outdoor space as an extra room. You can do this by adding a deck or patio and an awning or gazebo so you have somewhere safe and comfortable to sit even if the weather is not the best. Erect a shed too and that will take some of your storage overflow.

Go small with the furniture

If your home is small, then your Amish furniture should be smaller too. Compact couches and queen instead of king beds are a no-brainer, and actually, as well as taking up less space, they will look better in your home because they will be in more proportion, too.

Paint it white

If you paint your small space white and fill t with lots of white furniture, it will almost always look more spacious than it would with a darker decor or a mix of colors. Of course, if color is your thing, feel free to disregard this point.

Make it multi-use

If you need to save space, buying things that have more than one use makes sense. From ottomans that also act as storage to microwaves that are also grills and conventional ovens, there are so many multi-use furniture and gadget options that you’d be foolish not to make use of them.

As you can see, living in a small space does not mean you have to compromise on a thing, you just need to live smarter and make slightly different choices than you might in a larger home. Embrace your small space!
